One of the order came really late.
Great food and excellent service. Managed to had my dinner just before MCO started again. Steak & mushroom pie and Reuban Sandwich were impressive. The hot chocolate was thick and warm. Sadly the truffles fries did not meet my expectations. Final bill around RM150 for 2 person (if i rmb it correctly). Overall my partner and I had a wonderful dinner that night.
Pie is delicious
Loved the ambiance of the place. Dinner was reservation only so there was good crowd control. Food was amazing, had the fish pie, wagyu burger and duck confit, all were amazing!! Would definitely come back to try out the rest of the menu.
Small and cozy place, requires booking in advance a few days ahead. Was amazed when I found out that the owner (David)was the same person who started Dave’s Deli with his wife back in the days. His son is none other than the infamous Darren Chin of DC Restaurant and Bref. So Cafe Bistrot David is a collaboration between father&son; whipping up things they are good at and love. The truffle fries was delightful with the thick truffle paste and generous amount of grated parmesan (forgot the pic with the parmesan on). The wagyu burger was cooked well for a burger and came in between a croissant instead of the old fashion buns, loved it. The buratta dish was beautiful although, can’t say there was much buratta .. should consider naming the dish bruchetta with tomato puree , flowers and then buratta lol. The pasta with wine and clams were spicy and packed with flavour. Anyway, good food overall and will be back again to try more dishes.
Great service , good variety of bistro classics...on the menu , great design ...
Good food although expensive. Worth trying. We ordered the fish pie and charcuterie platter. Was keen to try the crepe suzzette but was full already. Good service.. Book before you come.
Food is good. Service too
Very good food and ambience.
Enjoy the ambience and the meal althought limited dining time being given due to full reservation. Crepe cake as dessert would perfect sum up your day. Suggest to make reservation in peak dining time.
The place looks unique and stylish and the taste is out of this world! P.S. the fries are delicious
IT WAS A GOOD WHACK !! For someone who watch too much YouTube about food, Rueben immediately caught my attention. I ordered it without much hesitation. Friend ordered roast duck, I found it strange CBD having this item and surprised my friend ordering it. He said let's have "half-duck" and you can have some, hel'ya why not.. Another friend texted for roast duck & beef pie while looking for carpark. The food is GREAT!! Oooooo i love the Rueben sandwich. About the duck .. hmm "There's something about the duck" friends love it. Portions are huge, sharing definitely the strategy in my next visitsss so i can try more (all ??) Staffs are really nice, attentive and knowledgeable. ???? Team CBD !! The difficulty of getting carpark, 1 & 1/2 hours per session seems short, totally worth it. *2 sessions each lunch & dinner. Please check online for more information and make reservation. I'm glad i did.
Parking here is a nightmare... But once you get that out of the way... service is great and most of the food on menu is awesome.... on point..?????? Do make a booking, walk-ins could be challenging.. Ambience: nice cosy place... liked that they installed huge acrylic shields between tables for covid safety.. Service is attentive and excellent... no complains here... Food: Had the Reuben sandwich and lamb pie (pictured here..), two other pastas and roast duck (not so nice... don’t bother trying..) The sandwich and pie were legit.. and came together really well with the side dishes that were served with them... loved the pickle with the sandwich... and the mash with the pie was creamy dreamy... The other two pastas were nice... one was a seafood pasta (can’t recall the name)... was exotic with tinge of tangerine... After being impressed by the initial mains... We got excited when we saw another table order the duck... but we were all disappointed by it (the other table sent it back!)... and from a previous experience... a friend also said their udon was also ??♂️ Price: be prepared to throw ~rm100 per pax incl drinks and dessert...
Reopened recently after CMCO. Strict C19 registration. 4 slots of online dining reservations. Professional Chef management with originally self created dining menus. Prompt service @ entrance to table to ordering by friendly, courteous & smiley waiting staff. Quick food & wine recommendations & fast food service. Quarter or half roast ? was crispy skin, tender & juicy meat on well marinated meat. It’s served with fragrant & aromatic basmati rice, fragrant salted vege soup. Nice pungent garlicky chili sauce. Slices Beef sandwich with cheese on toasted bread served with fries and mini pickle cucumbers. Succulent juicy Beef pie was well marinated ingredients slowly baked to perfect top. Good recommendation of wine by staff. Gd dining experiences ?
Great pies
The burger with wagyu and truffles is exceptional.
Loved the steak & mushroom pie, and french onion soup! Perfect ambience for a cozy catch up with friends/ family; and amazing service from David & staff!
The place can get really packed and according to the servers, they had to turn down walk-ins due to current CMCO. Please make bookings, they have 2 sessions so be sure to be punctual as they will need to shoo you away once the time is up for next session. Parking unfortunately is a nightmare so be prepared to make at least 20 circling before you eventually finds one spot. Either that or Grab your way there. Food is overall good, and servers are also friendly.
Nice food, pleasant ambience & excellent service staff
Nice diner/bistrot style food. Solid servings and good service.
The bisque is a "must try".
They give you only 1 hour to eat your food if you eat at 7 pm. Otherwise I found it overly priced but the food is tasty.
4.5 star is definitely underrated! My return will be very very soon.
The wagyu burger is ???
Service was a bit slow but food was very good
Good service. Nice food Was coming for wahyu burger but me come with wrong group of friends that dint take beef .. Nice pasta nice food. Roasted duck is abit disappointed .. Sauce of duck is nice .skin was nice .. Meat abit too dry for me .. other was good .. roast duck not bad not very good either .
Came here for brunch. Staffs are polite and good. Started great with delicious shrimp and crab soup. Ordered beef cheek and tempura battered fish. The foods were OK. Beef cheek could used a little more flavour and seasoning. Fish was quite bland and the salts are not distributed evenly. Finished with dessert of Crepe Suzette. Coffees were OK. Prices are above average.
Good pies n wyagu beef burger
Loved the pie! Was a huge enough portion for two.
Roast duck and the rice was excellent in comparison to the lamb pie which in my opinion could be better given the premium price. Service was attentive and friendly.
prompt and friendly service, tried the wagyu beef burger and it was delish! pie was ok too but they ran out of mash so didnt get to try the OG version. Beef burger was definitely the star ? for us.
Tried Wagyu truffle burger, patty is perfectly done (juicy) and their Beef pie, is fluffy, crispy on the outside and chunky beef inside. Next time if you wanna dine in don't forget to make a reservation. Do not accept walk in. *did well on the _ SOP
Been here twice now! Excellent service, love the ambiance! Dishes that we love are the pies, spaghetti, papardelle and fish! Love the special crepe dessert. The manager and staff was so attentive and just great service overall!
The food here is amazing and affordable. Every dish so far has exceeded expectations, especially the roast duck
Friendly service. Good recommendation and thumbs up for d food.
Cafe-Bistrot David is a fusion of French, Italian and Asian cuisine and cafe-style dining. The pasta and lamb chops are very delicious, you must try their signature dishes. Really recommend. Will come again next time?
Excellent wagyu burger and good Reuben sandwich. The only thing that was extremely off putting about the whole experience was when we asked for water, the waitress opened a bottle of Evian (which costed RM 15) which felt like an underhanded sales tactic to hawk the more expensive item that will require the customer to proactively say no or be charged for it ("normal" water costed RM 5). Saw it happening with another table as well so be warned.
U simply paid what u get , it’s just as a matter of taste !
Ambience: Warm & cosy. Very welcoming. Service: Attentive & accommodating. Restroom: Clean & dry. Food: - Pies were very good. Pastry was done just right, fillings were generous and gravy matched well. - Oxtail Assam Pedas: Very tasty. Not overly pedas, and oxtail was tender. - David’s Udon: Wholesome comes to mind. Broth was not too salty, and ingredients were plentiful. A little pricey. Price: A little on the high side. Overall: A little pricey, but food was wonderful. Great experience. Will be back.
The Rueben and steak burgers were amazing!! Everything just felt put together perfectly. We had burrata (with dehydrated beef) and one of the salads, which did not disappoint. Definitely coming here again to try more things on the menu.
Yummm pies ?
Nice place, good service, good food. We ordered a Steak & Mushroom pie, Spiral sausage (both are good), Squid ink spaghetti can be better. The Rose Lychee Cake is not going to get next try, it tastes more like raspberry cake. Would be happily paying for pie and sausage but not spaghetti and cake.
Delicious food....try the pies! We shared the Reuben and the Wagyu burgers at the Bistrot, which were amazing, and we'll definitely have again, and brought home the chicken and the mushroom pies. They travelled well and were so lovely that we're planning a delivery. Sometimes food isn't so great after being delivered, but I can tell you those pies were fantastic, the next day. Thank you, David, for ruining our diets! ?
Chicken pie with only so little chicken. Too much msg in the sauce
One of the few restaurants I've been to during the lockdown that was packed. Booking is essential for weekends so make sure you call them first or risk being disappointed. We had the caesar salad, beef pie and rueben on sourdough. All were excellent and portion sizes were huge. Highly recommended with excellent service staff so will return again and again.
Please try the roasted duck rice!!! Amazing place for a date
Omg the burger. Come here for the wagyu burger. It does not disappoint. The star of the burger is clearly the wagyu pattie which is so juicy and sweet, but the truffle oil, the flaky pastry and the sesame seeds all come together beautifully. Tried the fish pie also - it's hearty although I'd say it's a little salty for me (I notice the filling has both salmon and smoked salmon). The place is beautiful-- from the artwork to the copper stains on the ceiling-- it's delightful the attention given to little details. The place is packed, so do make reservations. We were given an hour to dine coz we booked in the last minute. Bonus: it's quite fun to sit at the counter bar and watch the food being prepared. No tap water is available (aka you gotta pay for water, which is not fun, for a restaurant like this)
Substandard food at exorbitant price. Only the ambience is good and that's it.
Dave's never disappoint. Cozy and with great food.
The pies here are always good. And the barista serves great coffee too. The place is always full and can be a tad too noisy. But the food and excellent service makes up for it
